Land worth preserving

Holdfast Ranch is being built with a long view. Our commitment is not only to raising cattle, but to stewarding North Idaho land in a way that honors what came before us and protects what comes next.

We are investing time in the kind of work that matters beneath the surface, including land care, conservation thinking, and the long-term health of the ranch. This is not an add-on to the brand. It is part of the foundation.

As Holdfast grows, this page will continue to document the practices, priorities, and progress that shape how we care for the land.

Only 5 to 6% of native Palouse land is left.

Our property is part of that story, including one of roughly 49 known Idaho sites with an endemic catchfly.

That reality shapes how we think about ranching. Doing right by the land improves the quality of the grasses, supports biodiversity, helps the ground hold water, and creates better conditions for the cattle that depend on it.

Rare Ground. Real Responsibility.

The future of Holdfast Ranch depends on more than what we raise. It depends on how well we care for the land beneath it.

As this work continues, we’ll keep sharing the easements, practices, and progress shaping the ranch over time, and invite others who care about this kind of stewardship to follow along.
